What color LED Panel do I need?

The right light color determines the atmosphere and functionality of the space. LED panels are available in various color temperatures, expressed in Kelvin (K):

3000K: Warm white

Suitable for reception areas, showrooms, hospitality, or home use. Provides a warm and inviting atmosphere.

4000K: Neutral white

The most popular color for offices, schools, and shops. Provides bright, natural working light.

6000K: Cool white / daylight

Which panels suit my situation?

Not every LED panel is the same. The choice depends on the ceiling type, desired light intensity, and application.

1. Dimensions

The most common size is 60x60 cm for a suspended ceiling (LED panel suspended ceiling). Additionally, 30x30, 30x120, and 60x120 variants are available.

2. Wattage and light output

The wattage, along with the number of lumens, determines the light intensity.

3. UGR value (glare rating)

For office environments, a low UGR value is important to prevent glare.

How many LED panels per m² do I need?

Not every space has the same need for light. There is no fixed number of panels you need for a room. The number of required LED panels depends on:

• The desired lux value
• Ceiling height
• Light color
• Type of activities

There are some general guidelines:

• Office space: 300–500 lux
• Warehouse: 200–300 lux
• Workshop: 500+ lux
• Living space: 150–300 lux

As a rule of thumb for a standard ceiling height (±2.6 m):

1 60x60 LED Panel per 4 to 6 m² for office lighting.

For a room of 24 m², you generally need 4 to 6 LED panels, depending on the chosen wattage.

Playing with dimensions

A 60x60 LED panel is the most common size for a suspended ceiling, but it is certainly not the only solution. Depending on the layout of the space, the type of ceiling, or the desired design, you can experiment with different formats.

In a long hallway or narrow space, for example, a 120x30 panel might be more logical. In smaller spaces, a 30x30 panel might be sufficient. By varying dimensions, you can optimize light distribution and ensure a better aesthetic fit with the ceiling grid.

How do I connect LED Panels?

Connecting LED ceiling panels is relatively simple and can usually be done yourself.

• Connect the supplied LED driver to 230V.
• Connect the driver to the LED panel via the plug connection.
• Place the panel in the suspended ceiling or use a surface-mounted frame.
• Switch on the power.

For dimmable LED panels, a suitable dimmable driver and compatible dimmer are required (e.g., 0-10V, DALI, or Triac).

Working without a suspended ceiling? Then you can use:

What is the difference between back-lit and side-lit LED panels?

When choosing an LED panel, you often encounter two techniques: back-lit and side-lit (also known as edge-lit). Both provide even light distribution, but the construction and performance differ. Side-lit LED panels

In side-lit panels, the LED chips are located on the sides of the panel. The light is diffused towards the center via a light guide plate (LGP). Advantages of side-lit panels:

Back-lit LED panels
